It has been said by renowned world economic experts that commercial airlines are a catalyst to economic development in any country. That is why every country supports its airlines. Efficient local airlines facilitate the movement of people and goods and enhance economic transactions and trade. Despite the difficult environment under which Nigeria local airlines operate, Consumer Protection Directorate of the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority , NCAA, recently released industry figures for year 2018, with no fewer than 14.2 million air travellers recorded. The traffic, compared to 2017 estimate of 11.2 million, represents a 20.8 per cent traffic upsurge ; apparently a return on investment for committed local operators.
